The p-block of the periodic table consists of the elements of groups 13,14, 15, 16, 17 and 18. These elements are characterized by the filling up of electrons in the outermost p-orbitals of their atoms. The principal quantum number “n” fills the p orbital. There is a maximum of six electrons that can occupy the p orbital. Some of these elements and their compounds play an important role in our daily life. The book reveals the structure, characteristics, and properties of p-block elements.
